Convention committee, staff to put both oars in the water

Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) staff and 2003 Convention Committee members met in British Columbia on September 9 to put wind to sails for the 2003 national convention.

But plans are already on their way for the 2003 convention, including a post-convention cruise through British ColumbiaÔÇÖs Inside Passage to spectacular Alaska.

Those taking advantage of this special offer will spend seven days on the luxurious Norwegian Wind and experience the famous Inside Passage and Southeastern Alaska from the spacious decks and walkways of this graceful ship.

The ship includes panoramic views in almost all of its many restaurants, lounges and even fitness centres. Many staterooms include a picture window or floor-to-ceiling window.

Participants will visit four ports in Alaska: Ketchikan, Juneau (Alaska’s capital), Skagway – where the famed Chilkoot Trail started for miners heading for the Klondike goldrush – and Wragnel at the mouth of the beautiful Stikine River flowing from B.C., and site of the Aran Bear and Wildlife Observatory where visitors can see brown and black bears up close.

You’ll visit some of Alaska’s most interesting destinations, then return to a ship full of entertaining possibilities. Every evening you’ll enjoy Broadway and Vegas-style shows in the Stardust Lounge. The casino offers the friendliest staff and your favorite games. There’s live music all over the ship.
