Great Ideas 2010 winners announced

April 30, 2010 – Creative promotion and solid sales efforts were evident in the newspaper products that won over the judges at the year’s Great Ideas Awards. These awards are presented annually by the Canadian Newspaper Association.  “We were impressed with the high quality of entries,” said the judges. “It’s obvious that creative hard work continues at newspapers across the country.”

The Hamilton Spectator led the winners with four awards followed by the Calgary Herald with three awards in this year’s competition. Other multiple winners were the Chronicle Journal in Thunder Bay, the Lethbridge Herald, the Montreal Gazette, Northumberland and the Winnipeg Free Press.

The awards celebrate sales and marketing efforts in print and online. All participants will receive a CD with the 2010 submissions. This year, the awards will be handed out at a luncheon May 13, held during the Ink and Beyond conference at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto.
