Telegraph Journal columnist passes away

Political columnist Don Hoyt passed away at the age of 76. Hoyt began his newspaper career at the Telegraph Journal (NB) in 1952 writing obituaries and general news items. He went on to work for The Canadian Press before moving into politics. He worked as a communications strategist for a number of Liberal leaders throughout the 1970s. Hoyt returned to the Telegraph Journal to write his popular political and human interest column that ran for 12 years.
