OCTOBER 10, 2012 – Canada Post has reached a tentative agreement with both bargaining units of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). Negotiations have been ongoing for almost a year between the Crown Corporation and its union of postal workers which represents both urban employees (CUPW-Urban) and the Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers (CUPW-RSMC).
The tentative agreement with CUPW-Urban includes new lower entry wages and a new pension calculation for employees hired in the future while the CUPW-RSMC agreement includes wage and benefit improvements.
