The Canadian Community Newspaper Awards are just around the corner

With the end of the year quickly approaching, it’s time to begin preparing your submissions for the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards. We encourage all of our community newspaper members to start gathering your best work from 2013 to enter into next year’s national competition.

The annual awards program is open to members of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) and to campus newspapers across the country. There are a variety of awards up for grabs in a diverse range of categories for editorial, photography and multimedia work.

New this year, the CCNAwards have partnered with Newspaper Toolbox to create a customized online entry platform to make the submission process quick, easy and more affordable. We are also pleased to announce that we will be opening up the awards program to our French-language community newspaper members.

Start preparing your entries today; Newspapers Canada will begin accepting submissions next week. Stay tuned for a member bulletin announcing the official competition launch. And remember, if you would like to recommend yourself or an experienced colleague to serve as a judge in the 2014 competition, you can click here to download the nomination form.
