Stargazing writer Malene Arpe dies at 50

Toronto Star entertainment writer Malene Arpe died last week at 50 years old following a sudden heart attack. Arpe wrote about celebrities and popular culture for the Toronto Star’s Stargazing section, which appears in print on Sundays and as an online blog. She first joined the daily paper in 1999 as a copy editor and moved on to become deputy entertainment editor before taking over Stargazing in 2006.
