Statistics Canada recently released data on private radio broadcasting operating revenues, noting that revenue was relatively stable in 2014, down 0.5% compared to 2013. This was the first decrease in revenues since 2009. The majority (98.5%) of operating revenues are generated from advertising sales, with local advertising accounting for 67.7% of the total, the lowest contribution on record. National and network advertising sales represents 30.8%.
