Community newspapers reach 8 out of 10 Canadians

There are more than 1,000 community newspapers across Canada, publishing anywhere from one to three times per week. That translates to almost 20 million community newspapers circulating each week.

When surveyed, more than 80% of Canadians report that they are readers of these community newspapers in any given month. In smaller population centres community newspapers enjoy higher readership as they are the main source of information about local communities.

Weekly reach of community newspapers increases with age according to data from the most recent Vividata survey.
