More staff changes at the Toronto Star

Toronto Star editor Michael Cooke and managing editor Irene Gentle recently announced five new staff appointments as part of the ongoing transformation of the newsroom at the daily newspaper.

Serena Willoughby, who has been with the Star since 2008, has taken on a new position as breaking news/enterprise deputy.

Deputy Sports Editor Patrick Ho will also be stepping into a breaking news/enterprise deputy role at the end of the year.

Reporter Jennifer Yang is launching a new Identity and Inequality beat at the paper; she will be covering and investigating issues relating to gender, race, sexual orientation and other identities.

Montreal-based reporter Allan Woods is joining the breaking news/enterprise desk to cover non-political, non-Ontario national news.

Finally, reporter Jacques Gallant will take on a new Legal Affairs beat, reporting with the justice team.
