Majority of Canadians get their online news from traditional media sites

Research conducted for Public Policy Forum’s report The Shattered Mirror, finds that more than 70 per cent of Canadians are accessing traditional media websites as the source of their online news.

Says Allan Gregg of Earnscliffe Strategy Group: “the pattern here suggests that it is the source and not the platform or channel that confers trust and authority.”

Research has proven that traditional media typically earns higher trust ratings than digital only media, social media sites and news from friends and family.
