Free expression advocate Arnold Amber dies

Arnold Amber, the long-time Canadian journalist and president of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression, died on Labour Day. He was 77.

A devoted proponent of press freedom, Amber became the first person to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom.

Amber is survived by his wife, Phyllis, daughters Jeannine and Gillian, and son, David.
