Legendary crime writer Max Haines dead at 86

Max Haines, who wrote began writing crime stories in 1972 with the Toronto Sun, died this past weekend at his home Etobicoke, Ontario. He was 86 years old.

Over 34 years, Haines wrote 28 books and 2,500 wildly popular Crime Flashback columns in the Sun.
