Newspaper readership varies by platform

New research from News Media Canada confirms that 88% of Canadians read a newspaper on any platform (print/digital) each week.  A new fact sheet summarizes the differences in readership habits across each of the four platforms measured in the most recent release of Newspapers 24/7.

Almost six of ten (58%) adults read their printed newspaper; morning and evening are key print readership periods.  Newspaper readership on computers (desktops/laptops) spikes at various times during the day for the 58% of Canadians that choose this platform.

The mobile platform continues to grow in Canada and this is now the most most popular platform throughout the day as readers demand information “on-the-go”.  Tablet readership is strongest in the evening when readers have more time to explore digital content in detail.
