Canadians want government advertising in newspapers, research shows

News Media Canada recently asked Canadians which media they think are the most appropriate for advertising about federal, provincial and municipal/regional government programs and services.

Their answer was resounding and clear: Newspapers!

Why? First, the smaller the market size the more important community newspapers are to communicate government messages.

Second, almost three quarters of Canadians want to see governments communicating with them in the page of their newspapers or on newspaper websites.

Third, newspapers provide a trusted environment that Canadians rely on for key information about their community, their province, their country and the world they live in.
