Quebec’s oldest weekly newspaper ceases regular publication

The Stanstead Journal, Quebec’s oldest weekly newspaper, printed its last weekly edition Wednesday.

In a note on Page 3, the paper said it plans to continue printing a condensed version featuring local news and features for subscribers around 10 times per year and will have a pay-wall protected web presence in the coming months, but the weekly edition is ‘no longer a viable business’.
