2021 Ma Murray Community News Media Award for Ad Campaign category

The BCYCNA Ma Murray Community News Media Awards honour the achievements of community newspapers throughout BC and Yukon.

The #MaMurray Awards recognize the outstanding work produced each week and celebrates the vibrancy of Canadian community newspapers. Congratulations to the 2021 winners of the Ad Campaign category!

1st Place: COAST REPORTER, Dimitri Shvartsman & Eric Pinfold

The Silver Stone Heights development is more than just houses, it all about the view and this ad campaign sells it. The skyline image grabs the viewer’s attention and the well organized layout gives that reader all the information they need. The campaign is polished and well executed with great design, photography and clear messaging. You nailed it.

2nd Place: 100 MILE HOUSE FREE PRESS, Evan Fentiman & Martina Dopf

Clear, strong, and attention-grabbing copy hits home with us all. Especially now with local business struggling during pandemic restrictions. All the elements of these ads are community focused, from the people appearing in the ad, the businesses we shop at and messaging pointing out we all benefit when we shop local. Do as the ad says and support your local business! Well done and an important message.

3rd Place: THE INTERIOR NEWS, Grant Harris, Dave Stene & Julie Huffman

A simple but very effective design gets the point across to the reader that unlike the big banks the professionals at the Bulkley Valley Credit Union are part of the community just like you and I. The excellent images showing the cross-section of the individual’s personal and professional lives really is a great way to illustrate this. Great images!
