New Canada Post guides available November 18

NOVEMBER 16, 2011 – In addition to changes to Publications Mail and Unaddressed Admail, Canada Post will be issuing new Customer Guides, Mail Preparation and Presortation Guides, and Postal Standards Guides. New 2012 versions of all guides will be posted on the Canada Post website by November 18, 2011

The guides are being updated to reflect the changes that take effect on January 16, 2012.

For members who use mail delivery, the guides form part of your Agreement with Canada Post. Please be sure to download the new versions so that you have the most up-to-date information.

Customer Guides Summary of Changes
Customer Guides are documents that form part of your Agreement with Canada Post. No substantial changes to these documents were made other than those required to implement the changes taking effect for various services on January 16, 2012.

All the 2012 Customer Guides will be posted online by November 18, 2011. Changes to the 2012 Customer Guides will include:

  • A highlights page indicating where changes have been made.
  • Continuation of previous years’ efforts for content amalgamation.
  • Any changes required to implement the approved 2012 service changes.
  • Clarification throughout each guide to improve understanding.

Refer to the Important Updates section, conveniently located at the beginning of each Customer Guide for a listing of the changes and quick links to the revised sections.

Mail Preparation and Presortation Guides and Postal Standards Guides Changes
Mail Preparation and Presortation Guides are documents that form part of your Agreement with Canada Post.

On November 18, 2011, Canada Post will release the following updated Guides, which come into effect on January 16, 2012.

  • Lettermail
