Members requesting another memberÔÇÖs updated Verified Circulation reports will now pay a $50 fee per title requested.
The request fee was added in order to more accurately reflect the amount of time and work it takes to process the request and generate the report.
The Canadian Community Newspapers AssociationÔÇÖs Board voted the change into effect at a Board meeting from Feb. 28-Mar. 1. The Board also voted to eliminate the practice of applying a three per cent deduction to distribution where returns have not been declared and to uphold standard policy for non-compliance. Publishers participating in the VC program are reminded that it is mandatory, under program regulations, to report returns. In order to further facilitate the practice, Form X will be adjusted to reflect an additional column for reporting returns. Reports submitted that do not appropriately reflect returns will be returned to the publisher.
The elimination of the three per cent deduction was eliminated in order to keep the Verified Circulation program current with modern auditing standards.
