New ad campaign for members

The Canadian Newspaper Association and Canadian Community Newspaper Association are thrilled to launch ads designed to highlight, to our readers and advertisers, that choosing to read a printed newspaper is environmentally friendly.

Our industry is committed to environmental principles though out our production process. Canadians don’t necessarily know the steps we have taken and these ads provide an overview of our industry success story.

To appropriately deliver the environmental message, research was undertaken by our friends at the Forest Products Association of Canada. They found that Canadians liked the concept of “working together”. They appreciated that as producers we were making strides and that they were participating by recycling. The tone of the ads reflects this.

Two ads are now available for your use in your newspaper’s print edition. Your newspaper can choose to run one, the other or neither – as you are not required to run these. They are in black & white or colour and in a variety of sizes. The ads currently have our logos. You can choose to run the ad with our logo, replace ours with yours or add your logo as well – it’s your newspaper’s choice.
