Two popular columnists from the Toronto Star have passed away.
National affairs columnist Jim Travers, who won a National Newspaper Award in 2010 for political writing, died at age 62. He had previously held senior editorial positions at the Ottawa Citizen and the Hamilton Spectator before joining the Star in 1997.
Long-time reporter Walter Stefaniuk also passed away last week at 72 years old. For 12 years Stefaniuk researched and answered reader questions for the Star’s You Asked Us column.
