We’re looking for journalism students, graduates and interns to cover INK+BEYOND

Want to meet innovative journalism experts from around the world and have your work published in front of a national industry audience? Then don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to help cover the 2012 INK+BEYOND newspaper conference and trade show on April 26-27 in Toronto, ON.

Newspapers Canada is currently recruiting volunteer reporters, photographers and videographers to cover this exciting and educational industry event. As a conference volunteer, not only will you produce some impressive published work to include on your resume, but you will also be invited to attend INK+BEYOND conference sessions, educational workshops and the industry trade show free of charge (a $400 value). You’ll also have the opportunity to network with publishers, editors and various other newspaper delegates from publications across the country.

We are looking for approximately five to six individuals with backgrounds in editorial, photography, broadcast or multimedia journalism to provide coverage in the following areas:

  • Written news articles summarizing each of the speaker sessions, workshops, awards galas and trade show (roughly 400-600 words per piece).
  • Photography of various sessions, networking events and trade show.
  • Conduct video interviews with a selection of the high-profile industry speakers.

All volunteers must be able to produce professional, insightful and accurate work in a quick turnaround time. Conference materials provided by our volunteers will be published on the INK+BEYOND website during and following the conference and may also be distributed in our News on News e-bulletin.

Volunteers must be available to attend both days of the conference (Thursday April 26 and Friday April 27) and will be expected to meet with Newspapers Canada staff members prior to the event for coverage planning and training activities.
