Print resonates with readers

A new survey of daily newspaper readership shows that print is still the dominant platform for most readers during the week.

This conclusion was revealed in data compiled by media research firm Vividata, as part of their 2016 Q1 readership survey.

On the average weekday, 70 per cent of adults read newspaper content in print or digital while 30 per cent read digital only. Across Canada net digital and print weekly reach varies by market, from 73 per cent in Regina to a high of 88 per cent in Winnipeg.

Moreover, Vividata’s research reaffirms that the readership of daily newspapers remains strong across the country, with eight out of ten Canadians reading each week.
