Younger Canadians read newspapers, almost as much as Boomers

When asked about their newspaper reading habits Millennials confirm their preference for reading newspaper content on their phones.

About 88% of Millennials, representing about a third of the Canadian population, report reading newspaper content over the course of a week and out of the four platforms measured (print, computer, phone and tablet) their primary platform is the phone.

Not surprisingly, the preferred platform for Boomers’ newspaper reading habit is the printed paper. However, over the course of a week Millennials and Boomers both rely on newspaper content with readership on any platform in the 88% to 90% range.
