News Canada sponsors General Excellence

News Canada is the new sponsor of the General Excellence category of the Better Newspapers Competition (BNC).

“I’m delighted to be able to make this investment in the community newspaper industry,” said News Canada president Ruth Douglas.

“In the past we have had corporate partnerships with CCNA, but it is especially rewarding for us to sponsor the Better Newspapers Competition, since it does so much to improve the quality of journalism in this country,” she added.

News Canada will also become a sustaining member of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association, again showing their commitment to the industry.

“It’s important that industry partners work together, and we are very happy to have News Canada supporting our association and specifically our Better Newspapers Competition,” said John Hinds, CCNA Chief Executive Officer.

“We look forward to working with the CCNA over the coming year,” said Ms. Douglas.

As part of the partnership, News Canada will be engaging CCNA members by showcasing their editorial calendar in The Publisher and through a member survey.
