2009 in Review: By the Numbers

The Canadian Newspaper Association (CNA) and the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) have had a successful year. We are proud to share with you a brief overview of our activities on behalf of the industry:

  • $0 = recycling success: Due to CNA/CCNA, in Ontario, newspapers pay in kind by providing ad space. For 2010, this ad commitment has been halved due to our efforts. This provides a framework for the country.
  • 7% win: CNA lobbied for and achieved exception from HST

  • 11 monthly printed newspapers: The Publisher presents perspective on key areas of interest to the industry

  • 183 awards: We honour your work & your clients via: Better Newspapers, Extras, Great Ideas, Goff Penny & Quill awards

  • 231 questions: As we house the latest data (e.g. linage, revenue) and industry statistics, newspapers, media planners and the media contact us for information
