Canadian newspapers among the finalists at the 2015 INMA Awards

The International News Media Association (INMA) has announced the 89 finalists for the annual INMA Awards. Eight Canadian news organizations are among the nominees at the prestigious international competition, which rewards global excellence in sales and marketing among media companies.

Postmedia’s recently re-launched newspapers the Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette and Calgary Herald are all nominated in the Best Brand Awareness Campaign Across Platforms category; Metroland Media Group is nominated for its Ontario Entrepreneur Week event; La Presse has been nominated for its La Presse+ digital edition; The Globe and Mail is nominated in the Best Idea to Grow Subscription Sales category for Investor Tools Flash Sale campaign; The Hamilton Spectator is a finalist in the Best Marketing Solution for an Advertising Client category for its Legal Matters section; and finally, the Winnipeg Free Press’ City Beautiful series is nominated in the Best Idea or Innovation to Create New Profit Centers category.

“The INMA Awards represent a snapshot of the creativity, passion, and soul of the news media industry,” said Earl J. Wilkinson, executive director and CEO of INMA. “(The) finalists have demonstrated a world-class ability to communicate their value proposition in fast-changing times.”
