Fun for the whole family in Charlottetown during INK+BEYOND

This year’s INK+BEYOND newspaper conference takes place in beautiful Charlottetown, PEI on May 28-30. We encourage our members to plan to extend your stay or bring along friends and family to explore all of the scenic beauty and east coast delights the area has to offer.

Choose from a number of biking and cycling tours, arts and craft tours, culinary restaurants, heritage sites and cultural experiences. PEI has a vast array of activities and day trips for our members and their families to enjoy before or after the conference. 

Island Drive and Anne of Green Gables Tour 

View rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages and bustling harbours along the Green Gables Shore (scenic drive) as we get ready to tour the North Shore area. Brief photo stops at quaint little fishing villages, lighthouses and the world class – Cavendish Beach. Tour Green Gables House: this old farm site inspired L.M. Montgomery’s first novel, Anne of Green Gables published in 1908. A must stop will be at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, located in one of Canada’s prettiest villages.

The company uses locally grown fruit to make delicious jams and marmalades. The tour departs Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 11:30am for the four hour tour. Details and booking available at www.princeedwardtours.com

Local Bites and Brew Tour

Designed around what Charlottetown is most famous for, an afternoon filled of adventure in history combined with Island hospitality. Our first stop will be at the Prince Edward Island Brewing Company where guests will take part in a personalized tour of Prince Edward Island’s largest brewery. And, as you know, a visit would not be complete without some samples of heir fine product.

Enjoy a tastings of their ales! A stop for lunch at one of the City’s finest for some ‘local bites’ before heading out to hear all about the history of prohibition in the capital city, as guests may be greeted by character(s) from days gone by and tell you a story or two about the big party that happened in 1864! We will then make our way to Lobster on the Wharf where we will meet our Oyster Shucker, as he guides you through the ins and outs of buying, storing, cooking, and enjoying shellfish.

Golf The Links at Crowbush Cove 

Overlooking the north shore dunes of PEI, Crowbush Golf Resort continues to enthrall all those that take the challenge to conquer one of North America’s very best. Undulating fairways, water holes with a wisp of wind, pot bunkers and challenging greens all come together to provide you with an experience not to be forgotten.
