During National Newspaper Week at the beginning of October we asked Canadians to pledge their support for the newspaper industry. More than 40,000 Canadians visited the website www.newspapersmatter.ca to join the list of supporters for our industry. One Winnipeg couple took the time to hand write a letter to publisher Bob Cox to express their support.
“My husband and I have been Winnipeg Free Press subscribers for as long as we’ve been married, which spans over 40 years! Having the paper to read at breakfast is my favourite time of the day, especially the Jumble! Keep up the excellent work and we will keep reading the Winnipeg Free Press in support of all your future endeavours.”
