ACNA is now Newspapers Atlantic

The Atlantic Community Newspapers Association has rebranded as Newspapers Atlantic (Journaux Atlantiques in French).

The regional association, which represents 70 newspapers with a combined circulation of more than 450,000, announced the name change during the annual convention in Halifax on May 13 and 14.

"During a strategic planning session (held in early 2011), it became clear that the current association name, ACNA, didn’t wholly reflect the future direction of the Association," said executive director Mike Kierstead. "With board members working together, it was agreed that a change in name to Newspapers Atlantic was better suited to meet the needs of the business now and for future prosperity."

Newspapers Atlantic has adopted the Newspapers Canada logo and launched a new website, www.newspapersatlantic.ca. All staff email addresses have changed to firstname@newspapersatlantic.ca (i.e. mike@newspapersatlantic.ca)
