Postmedia announces plans for metered paywalls at three more dailies

Postmedia Network recently announced that it plans to expand its online subscription model to three daily newspapers in the coming months. At that time, websites for Ottawa Citizen, the Vancouver Sun and Vancouver Province will offer a limited amount of free access to articles and content before asking readers to register for a paid subscription.

"We’re very confident about the metering system. We’ve had some degree of success and we’re going to continue to roll it out this year," said Postmedia president and chief executive Paul Godfrey.

In May 2011, Postmedia began testing a metered paywall on websites for the Montreal Gazette and the Victoria Times-Colonist, which has since been sold to Glacier.
