The Press and The Courts celebrates 30 years

The latest issue of The Press and The Courts celebrates 30 years of publication. For this special anniversary edition, we decided to seek sage advice about those decades from the publication’s founding editor Bryan Cantley, and original legal advisor Stuart Robertson. Their short retrospectives can be found under the Comment section.

This edition also includes coverage of the media’s appeal against sweeping search warrant/production orders issued in connection with the Stanley Cup hockey riots, stories on attempts to gain exhibits and search warrant information in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick respectively, and a summary of the feud between the Toronto Star and Toronto Mayor Robert Ford.

In 2012, the format and frequency of The Press and The Courts will change. Issues will be published quarterly and will include a summary of recent cases and outcomes, with ongoing and expanded coverage of the important issues facing the media in Canada.
