Village Media selected to power major U.S. local news experiment

Village Media has been selected as the digital platform/consultancy to help power McClatchy’s Compass Experiment in the U.S., a collaboration with Google’s Local News Experiment.

McClatchy announced earlier this week that Village Media would be powering their new market launch in Youngstown, Ohio.

Village Media began as a single hyperlocal news site in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and has grown into a network of small, community news sites that spread across Canada. Using their own platform, Village Media powers 11 owned-and-operated sites and 15 partner sites (and counting).
