New Fact Sheet: Newspapers effective for government advertising

Government has a duty to inform Canadians about its programs, services, policies and decisions. Research from News Media Canada reports that Canadians overwhelmingly want to see this advertising in newspapers. Residents in communities with less than 100,000 population believe strongly this information should be published in local community newspapers.

News Media Canada has compiled information on federal government spending and research that supports placing government advertising in newspapers. A new Fact Sheet is available for download here.  A companion presentation can also be found here.
