Reconciliation and the Media: Building relationships for better news coverage

The Reconciliation and the Media Committee will be hosting a one-day conference at the University of Saskatchewan on October 5. The event will bring together journalists, editors and community activists for a series of panel discussions focused on improving media coverage of Indigenous communities and issues in Canada.

Guest speakers include longtime journalist and Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner Dr. Marie Wilson, CBC Aboriginal reporter Connie Walker, and residential school survivor and First Nations community activist Eugene Arcand.
