Saint John Telegraph-Journal wins CJF Jackman Award

The Telegraph-Journal in Saint John, N.B. was awarded the CJF Jackman Award for Excellence in Journalism at this year’s Canadian Journalism Foundation Awards. The paper took home in the prize in the Small Media category (50 full-time employees or less) for its investigative series: Tracking Daycare Deficiencies.

CBC News earned the first place award in the Large Media category and a number of Canadian newspapers were finalists for the 2016 Award, including The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and Metro Ottawa.

Named after CJF founder Eric Jackman, this annual award recognizes an organization that embodies exemplary journalistic standards and practices with a resulting positive impact on the community it serves.
