Newspapers Canada has partnered with Local Media Association (LMA) to offer our members innovative sales certification courses at a special discounted rate.
The LMA online training program provides media salespeople with the skills and tools they need to progress from transaction-focused selling to true consultative selling. Participants will learn how to transform their sales relationships into collaborative business partnerships that produce dramatic, long-term and measurable sales results.
Courses have been designed by LMA in partnership with industry and training professionals. Suitable for both new and veteran newspaper sales personnel, these on-demand courses allow staff to learn at their own pace in the office or at home.
There are currently three courses available:
- Fundamentals Sales Certification Course: This course consists of eight modules (self-paced video and assessments) that prepare an advertising sales professional to successfully present effective advertising solutions that drive client-value and generate measurable sales-results. The Fundamentals Media Course covers everything from digital marketing to how-to sell an integrated (print and digital) solution.
- Advanced Digital Sales Certification Course: This course offers tactical approaches to selling digital products and using digital media to increase and capture qualified leads. It will prepare an advertising sales professional to present successful and effective advertising solutions that drive client-value and generate measurable sales-results.
- Advanced - Business Development Course: At a time when cold calling is becoming a less effective sales-method for most local media sellers, the emergence of search tools, social media and monitoring tools are creating a new approach for getting the attention of local advertisers. This course focuses on new digital tools and strategies to help sales staff attract new clients.
