Entries are now being accepted online for the 2019 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards! Open to member and non-member community newspapers and post-secondary campus newspapers across the country, the CCNAwards celebrate the best in community publishing from the previous year.

Newspapers across the country are recognizing their Proud Advertisers and are participating in this new program to support their local market economy. There is no cost to run Proud Advertiser program. It is designed to run year-round using house ads to feature loyal advertisers and then engaging those advertisers by delivering custom window stickers highlighting their support for the local economy.

The editor-in-chief of The National Post is leaving the Postmedia Network Inc. publication later this month. Postmedia spokeswoman Phyllise Gelfand says in an email that Anne Marie Owens will leave the role as of April 12. Owens will take on a new position at McMaster University in Hamilton.
