David Mah, a former photographer with the Prince George Citizen, died last week after succumbing to a two-year battle with cancer. The celebrated news photographer worked at The Citizen from 2008 to 2014.
Mah earned a Canadian Community Newspaper Award for best spot news photography in 2011; he later won a gold medal in the sports photo category and a silver medal in the spot news category at the BCYNA Ma Murray Awards in 2014.
“Dave was one of those photographers who couldn’t wait to get out in the field because there was always a good shot to be found, a surprise to discover, and that fun and curiosity was always in whatever he came back with,” said The Citizen’s managing editor Neil Godabout.
