Last week, John Hinds, president and CEO of News Media Canada and Francis Sonier, president of the Association de la presse francophone co-signed an open letter to Members of Parliament about how Google has made many misleading omissions in their recent global lobbying campaign.
As our letter states, since 2001, Google has aggressively acquired digital advertising technology companies that posed a threat. Today, Google technology powers the ad systems used to display ads on publisher websites, to deliver those ad placements to the market for buy (auctions), to bid on ad placement, to target consumers and to track ad performance.
