Bob Calvert, a legend of Canadian newspapers, passes away

News Media Canada is saddened to report that Robert “Bob” Calvert, who worked in the Canadian newspaper industry for more than a half century, passed away at the end of this past December in Moose Jaw, SK. He was 74 years old.

Over the course of his career, Calvert worked for several of the iconic names in Canadian newspapers: Thompson, Hollinger, CanWest, and Glacier Media. With Glacier, he was a part-owner of the Moose Jaw Express.

While his work allowed him to travel often, Calvert was always clear about his passion for Moose Jaw. He loved supporting the community and always did everything he could to make it a better place.
