Each year, the CCNA Better Newspapers Competition brings together communicators from Canada’s community newspapers industry to celebrate excellence and innovation.

Newspapers from across the country, large and small, compete for a variety of awards that are judged on such criteria as presentation, advertising content, local features, community news and, most prestigious of all, general excellence.

Finalists and winners are honoured at the exciting CPR BNC Awards Banquet – this year, being held in Vancouver on May 31, 2003. Also this year, the CPR BNC Awards Banquet will be combined with the Alcan Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards, hosted by the British Columbia & Yukon Community Newspapers Association.

All entries are to be based on editions published during the calendar year of 2002. To determine which circulation class to enter, you can check CCNAÔÇÖs online database at www.communitynews.ca for the latest first-edition audited or sworn figures as of November 18, 2002.
