Bill Haupt was both editor and publisher of the Lodi Enterprise weekly newspaper from 1983 to 2000 and was named Wisconsin’s weekly newspaper Publisher of the Year in 1989. He is a past president of both the Wisconsin Newspaper Association (WNA) and the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors (ISWNE). During his WNA presidency, Haupt initiated the PARTNERS program that connects the professional and academic journalism communities in Wisconsin and is considered a national model. In recent years, he has worked as a consultant for PARTNERS and has also led editorial page critique sessions for newspaper associations and private publishing firms throughout the United States.
In a session that promises youÔÇÖll get some opinions about your opinions, Haupt will discuss why editorials are important and what goes into the process of writing them. He will then take a look at real editorials from CCNA member newspapers – what makes them good; what will make them better. DonÔÇÖt miss this opportunity to experience a genuine ISWNE critique.
