Be entertained in Winnipeg

The 2007 Super Conference will dazzle with more than its engaging professional development sessions.

The Winnipeg Free Press welcomes delegates to Winnipeg by hosting the Conference Opening Extravaganza on Wednesday, May 9. Held at the Regent Casino, the opening night social and dinner will showcase many of Winnipeg’s entertainment, artistic and cultural talents. Among the featured entertainers are Brian Glow, renowned illusionist; the Winnipeg Ballet School; and the Winnipeg Symphony.

On Thursday, May 10, special guest speaker Leonard Asper, president and chief executive officer of Canwest Global Communications, will address delegates during the Annual Luncheon, sponsored by Abitibi Consolidated. In the evening, CanWest will host a party at one of Winnipeg’s nightclubs with plenty of hospitality to go around.

The CCNAÔÇÖs Presidents Luncheon will be held on Friday, May 11, and association leaders from the past and present will be recognized and the new board of directors will be introduced. The highlight of the conference, the Better Newspapers Competition Awards Banquet, takes place Friday evening. Winners of the nation-wide competition will be presented with plaques and trophies in recognition of excellence in their fields. And after the ceremony, it’s time to celebrate.

Throughout the conference, delegates will have the opportunity to explore the exhibitor area where they can meet new suppliers and speak face-to-face with some of their current trade partners. The 2007 trade show will be larger and more varied than previous years, featuring a mix of exhibitors from all three associations. DonÔÇÖt miss out on this chance to connect with potential trade partners and suppliers.
