After a long, harsh winter, there is nothing quite like a springtime round of golf at one of CanadaÔÇÖs premiere golf courses. Delegates registered for the 2008 Ink & Beyond newspaper conference will have the chance to do just that on Tuesday, May 6, at the world-class Glen Abbey Golf Club, site of the Canadian Open.
The Canadian Community Newspapers Association and its conference partner, the Canadian Newspaper Association, have negotiated an all-inclusive package rate of $295 per golfer, which includes green fees, cart, boxed lunch, dinner and round-trip bus transportation. Club rental is also available for a nominal fee. Tee times are 10:30 AM and 12:00 noon, space is limited to 60 golfers (i.e., 15 teams of 4).
Who can forget “The Shot of 2000″ÔÇöTiger Woods’ 218-yard 6-iron from a fairway bunker on the 19th hole to set up the birdie that clinched the Canadian Open and the Triple Crown? Retrace TigerÔÇÖs historic steps on this challenging course, held in high esteem by Tour players for its difficulty. Located in Oakville just west of Toronto, Glen AbbeyÔÇÖs greens are devilishly undulating and protected by steep bunkers. Duffers and experienced golfers alike will enjoy the scenery and the chance to test their skill, making this an ideal opportunity to mix business and pleasure.
Register individually or as a team. Download the registration form at the link below and submit it with payment to the CCNA office by Thursday, May 1.
