Community newspapers have until Friday, January 21, to submit entries for the 2011 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards (formerly Better Newspapers Competition ).
Publishers and staff are invited to select outstanding examples of journalism published in 2010 and submit entries in a broad range of categories that reflect the tremendous depth and variety of the community newspaper industry in Canada.
Among the categories in this year’s competition: Best News Story, Environmental Writing, Excellence in Rural Reporting, Best Photo Essay, Best Website and a new Best Multimedia Feature category. Entering the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards is quick and easy. Just fill in an entry form (below) and send it in, along with tear sheets and entry fees, to 890 Yonge St., Suite 200, Toronto, Ontario, M4W 3P4. All submissions must be postmarked or shipped prepaid prior to midnight on Friday, January 21.
