The Globe and Mail has been recognized for its digital storytelling with an Online Journalism Award from the Online News Association. The annual awards honour excellence in digital journalism and are open to media and technology organizations around the world. The Globe won in the Best Feature (medium) category for Breaking Caste, a multimedia series offering an inside look at an all-girls school in India.
The Edmonton Journal and Toronto Star were also nominated in the Breaking News (medium) and Explanatory Reporting (large) categories respectively.
The winners were announced during an award ceremony during the Online News Association conference on September 22.
