In Ontario, Metroland Media Group has purchased Carroll Publishing, owner of the St. Thomas/Elgin Weekly News, Elgin this Month and theweeklynews.ca. The properties will now become part of Metroland’s Southwestern Ontario Division with Carroll Publishing head Terry Carroll continuing to run the day-to-day operations as the general manager. Carroll will report to regional publisher/vice-president Ken Nugent and regional general manager Doug Rowe.
Founded in 2009, the St. Thomas/Elgin Weekly News is a tabloid-format paper with a free distribution circulation of over 30,000.
