Each year, Newspapers Canada hosts a variety of national awards in order to highlight the outstanding editorial work and promotional initiatives produced by our member newspapers and individual journalists. Entry deadlines for the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards, the Great Idea Awards and the Goff Penny Awards for Young Journalists are approaching fast; there are now less than two weeks left to participate in this year’s awards programs. Canadian Community Newspaper Awards
The Canadian Community Newspaper Awards recognize the editorial achievements of our community newspaper members as well as Campus newspapers at the annual Canadian Community Newspaper Awards. Awards categories highlight written work, photography and multimedia projects in different circulation classes. The entry deadline is Friday, February 15
Great Idea Awards
The Great Idea Awards celebrate newspaper innovation by honouring the outstanding marketing and advertising initiatives produced both in print and online. The entry deadline is Friday, February 15.
Goff Penny Awards
The Goff Penny Awards for Young Journalists offer cash prizes of $1,500 to two individuals working or writing for daily newspapers in two circulation classes: under 25,000 and 25,000 and over. The entry deadline is Monday, February 18.
