Media organizations are invited to submit applications for the 2013 Canadian Journalism Foundation Excellence in Journalism Award. The annual award program honours both local and national media organizations that embody exemplary journalistic standards and practices. Winners will be selected based on their ability to demonstrate democratic citizenship, rigorous professional practice, honesty, accuracy, independence, public accountability and initiative as well as artistry, clarity of style and high quality of presentation.
Previous winners include the Toronto Star, the Vancouver Observer, the Winnipeg Free Press and Metroland Durham region.
The final entry deadline for the CJF Excellence in Journalism Award will be February 28, 2013.

The finalists will be announced in April. Winners will be determined by a jury and will be announced at the 16th Annual CJF Awards held in Toronto on June 13, 2013.
