Postmedia announced plans to merge newsroom operations in four cities across the country as part of a strategic plan to reduce production costs.
In cities where the chain owns two titles – the Sun and Province in Vancouver, the Herald and Sun in Calgary, the Citizen and Sun in Ottawa, and the Journal and Sun in Edmonton – newsroom staff will come together to share editorial resources but will continue to publish separate newspaper brands.
Postmedia’s two Toronto-based daily papers – the Toronto Sun and the National Post – will continue to operate individually.
